I’ve been meaning to try this place out for a while as I had heard lots of good things.
Firstly we must talk about the decor, it’s bright, it’s Mexican and it’s certainly quirky. A very warm welcome from Nicci the owner who is running this all by herself. She makes and bakes on Mondays and Tuesdays then opens Wednesday – Saturday.
The menu was quite simple for the savoury options but there are plenty of beautiful hand crafted sweet treats on offer. You’ll find coffee, matcha and a smoothie menu too. Expect unusual flavour combinations with seasonal offerings too. I went for the festive panini with roast turkey which was served with a lovely fresh vibrant slaw then I shared a chocolate brownie which had cherries and macadamia – stunning.
While I don’t suggest you eat this type of food every day, it’s certainly nice as a treat and it’s always better to eat homemade vs ultra processed which many gluten free products are!
The kitchen is completely gluten free which is great as there is no cross contamination to worry about which as a coeliac is a huge weight off your mind. If it’s a little out of your way then check out the walks nearby at Canaston Woods.
Enjoy!
