The Ark

The Ark has been open now for over 30 years and I have been going ever since I remember. This is more than just a health food shop, it’s a healing centre too. You will find an abundance of goodness upon the shelves, from organic pastas (My favourite is the Doves farm gluten free brown pasta).

A huge selection of teas and a well stocked fridge that houses kombucha (A green tea fermented drink – great for gut health). The freezer has frozen fruit and vegetables and the indulgent BOOJA BOOJA vegan ice-cream. The refill station is such a great way to reduce plastic and food waste, I love to take my jars from home and fill them up with pulses, nuts, seeds and dried fruit as a treat.

They also sell a range of good quality supplements and the friendly staff can guide you on those too.

Its well worth a visit, and if you go on a Friday morning you can check out The Farmers Market @Castle square too.
